On Tuesday we went to Cameron pools and we got to swim in life jackets. We have 3 Groups to take on the bus each time we go. I'm in group 3 with Mokoroa.  First we had to put the life jackets on and 😱 FREEZING COLD!! Something I learnt went I put it on is that I saw sponges in the jacket and I explained to the life guards and everyone how it floats. If you don't know they're full of sponges to soak up the water and when it soaks up with water that means the air fills the spaces up and makes you float.🎈 The instructions are. Hold your nose with your left hand and hold your left shoulder with your right hand. 👃🙌Once your done the teacher lets you know when to take 1 step off the wall. After she tells you all to jump off you have to huddle into a group. We had to float on our back while we huddle, Kick left to right while we huddle. After all that huddling we have to make a train. Someone kept on pulling me really hard it felt so uncomfortable. I tried not to kick. Check out our photos

Teuila's Sea Week Information

                       My  Sea Week Information
Did you know there's 5 layers in the ocean? Sunlight zone, Twilight zone, Midnight zone, The Abyss and The Trench. Our reading group is summarizing the stories of each layer. Wanna hear mine? Well I don't care your hearing it anyways. First! the Sunlight zone.

Sunlight zone

It's the Top layer out of all of them.The  sunlight zone is up to 200m beneath the surface. It’s the warmest layer out of all of them. The animals that can be found  are krill, small fish, dolphins, sharks, blue whales, salmon and sea turtles. Secondly! Twilight zone!!!

Twilight zone

It is up to 1000m beneath the surface. It doesn't get much sunlight. There are no living plants down in that zone. Creatures that can be found are sea cucumber, swordfish, types of octopus, sperm whales and wolf eels. #3! Midnight zone. Oh scary..

Midnight zone

It’s up to 4000m under the seas surface.

This zone makes up 90% of the seas current volume. Animals found in The Midnight zone are Anglerfish, Jellyfish, squid really large whales and octopus. #4!! The Abyss!

The Abyss

It’s 6000m beneath the surface. 75% of the ocean bed is in The Abyss layer it is pitch black so and almost near freezing. The only creatures living down in the Abyss are squid and Sea Stars.

And the one you have all been waiting for.... THE TRENCH!!!

The Trench

It is known as the oceans floor and is up to 11,000m deep beneath the ocean's surface. It’s made up of narrow valleys and also underwater canyons. This part of the ocean can only be experienced by scientific equipment.

Mufti Xmas day

                         Xmas Mufti Day!
Kaiwhare's assembly! As some speak they sound trembley. Loud claps of hands while we cheer, but worse the sound of babies are near! While the kids are just happy in mufti! The sound of joy all around is lovely! 19 more days? I just cannot wait! Sounds of squeaking shoes while we dance, sounds of laughter while we glance. I hear the jingles from Miss Ward's shoes! After that party there's nothing to lose! While we wait for the jingles of the deer, we need to see them all appear! Yes I mean Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Commet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen. Merry Christmas to you all I hope you have a ball!

Hauraki's and Manukau's assembly 19 Trm4

Hello bloggers! I have seen you passed my amazing blog even tho you haven't seen it yet! Any who on November 22th 2019 Waikowhai Primary had an assembly. Hauraki and Manukau's assembly if you don't know that. It started off with Teuila and Callum's introduction. It was smart and cool. It went off "Kia ora Callum" "Buenos Dias Teuila" He forgot what it was so I said his line then he remembered. But that was just apart of the assembly. Second it was Creative fun. Were we had to to presentations about what we did. There were Chimay and Zoe for Origami frog, Ayo and Jonathan for Plasticine characters, Jamie an Ruta for Marshmallow Math's, Jamie and Aarya for Cutting Patterns, Teuila and Walid for Making Butter, Cassie and JD for Lego scene, Zoe and Grayson for Paper planes and Izumi and Aamena for Pavement art. Next we sang Natures Lament with NJ and Disaree. Ama, Zoe and Chimay for the Free verse Poems introduction. The 5 people who made the poems were. Jonathan ~ The Mighty Mountain, Demetrius ~ Rugby, Rael ~ Camp, Ruta ~ Tree's, Neeve ~ Hogwarts. Next was Pao, Faith, Aarya, Jamie and Maddison! For Duffy certificates. After the certificates we had Leilah, Avya, Brooklyn and Maryam for student of the weeks! Nice job Abigail and Brooklyn! I am so happy for you too! Neeve and Callum for the Athletics day! Nice starting! And cool slideshow too!  Aah Mercedes I'm sorry your group house didn't win. Ooh you don't know what I'm talking about huh? Mercedes did the house points and Pukeko won! Merit certificates! Teuila, Toby, Tyson, Ayo, Rael and Genevieve! The script wasn't really easy to make... That's why it was confusing. And Faith
